Studio AVC is an architecture and interior design firm which offers a tailored and creative approach to help deliver exciting and innovative designs. We aim to design buildings with a minimum impact on the environment and our ambition is to promote a strong sustainable ethic.
We like working on private houses, refurbishments and commercial projects like offices, restaurants and shops as well as bigger developments.
Our experience includes many mixed-used developments, cultural buildings and large scale master plans in the UK and around the world as well as smaller-scale projects including extensions and refurbishments.
We have a wide experience of working with local planning authorities to obtain planning approvals, conservation area and listed building consents and the technical requirements for building control.
We provide architectural design services from concept to completion and tailor our services to meet your requirements. We also provide interior design and design management services.
As a practice, we are proactive, not reactive. We design by asking questions to achieve excellence in design and its successful execution.
We push standards to be conceptual and creative while we challenge the technology in technical design to create innovative solutions.
We are client oriented with an awareness of cost and time. We use the RIBA Plan of Work to outline all stages in the planning, design and building process, from conception to completion on site and adopt a professional approach and work ethic that leads to the highest quality of design.
We enjoy drawings of hand sketches and physical models. We also use three-dimensional computer modelling that allows us both to explore design solutions rapidly and to communicate data to consultants and contractors.
As a small business, Studio AVC’s strength is in nurturing creativity and personal service, consistent with an ethos that “small is beautiful”.
The practice is based at Merton Abbey Mills in London and led by Ayca Vural-Cutts.
Ayca qualified in architecture and has 20 years post-qualification experience. After working in architectural and senior design roles at Foster + Partners and Zaha Hadid Architects, she set up Studio AVC in 2013.
Ayca Vural-Cutts also provides design consultancy on large-scale projects and is a member of Merton Council and Wandsworth Council’s Design Review Panels for Wandsworth and Richmond. She also writes monthly articles for international architectural magazines and teaches design at South Thames College.
