Langley Vale Visitor Hub- A Design Inspired by Nature and History

London, UK
2016

Our proposal for the Langley Vale Visitor Hub draws inspiration from the rich landscape of Langley Vale Woods and its significance as England’s First World War Centenary Wood. Located to overlook Langley Vale, the new visitor center has been thoughtfully designed to respect and integrate seamlessly with its natural surroundings.

The architecture of the building emerges from the site’s topography, with a layout that responds to both the stunning views and the nearby WWI memorial. By framing the views and orienting the building to look toward the landscape, the design invites visitors to explore and connect with the history and beauty of the environment.

This visitor hub provides an immersive experience, enhancing the connection between nature, history, and architecture, and offering a thoughtful space for reflection and discovery.
